Kinsey Institute Announces Cynthia Plaster Caster Collection

The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University has acquired the collection of Cynthia Albritton, known as Cynthia Plaster Caster, famous for creating plaster casts of musicians' erect penises and later, female musicians' breasts. Her work includes casts of Jimi Hendrix, Pete Shelley, and Karen O. The collection features over 70 molds, diaries, drawings, and music memorabilia, offering insight into her artistic process and life in the rock and roll scene.

Following her death in 2022, her friends ensured her collection found a permanent home at the Kinsey Institute, where it will be preserved and studied. The acquisition was supported by a gift from Desert Harvest to process and digitize the collection. > Read More
